Summer holiday in Funes – Walking in the Dolomites

The striking mountain formation of the Dolomites has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. Get to know the region by walking through it – Funes is the ideal starting point for it. The mountain region has an extensive network of different walking routes, from short to longer distances. The Panoramawanderweg and the Sunnseitenweg footpaths, as well as a trip up the Vikoler Jöchl peak are particularly recommended.

The combination of natural landscape and a stunning view onto the mountains makes the route an unforgettable experience. You will enjoy a clear view over the Valle Funes. Culture vultures can expect a few surprises at San Pietro. At its centre is the parish church, which bears the same name as the town. Among locals, the church is also known as the Cathedral in the Valley. The name refers to the nearly 65-metre-high tower that adorns the church. While holidaying in Funes, take the opportunity to hike along “Munkelweg”, the “Günther-Messnersteig” to the green hillsides at the foot of the impressive panoramic view of the Gruppo delle Odle.
